How this is calculated
MyFirstEV requires being a genuine first-time ZEV buyer, paying a flat $3,500 (new) or $1,750 (certified pre-owned) with no income test. Clean Cars 4 All is the opposite — it's income-qualified and generally requires scrapping an older, high-polluting vehicle, paying a combined incentive of roughly $9,500-$12,000 depending on your air district.
CALeVIP is entirely separate from vehicle purchase — it's a home charger installation rebate, with amounts from about $500 up to $6,500 depending on income and region. None of these programs exclude each other, so a first-time, lower-income buyer scrapping an old car and installing a home charger could plausibly qualify for all three at once.
CVRP is intentionally excluded from this finder since it closed in November 2023 and will not reopen.

Can I combine multiple California EV incentives?
Often, yes. A first-time ZEV buyer who's also income-qualified may be able to stack MyFirstEV with Clean Cars 4 All, plus a separate CALeVIP rebate for a home charger — these are three independent programs with different eligibility tests.
Is CVRP part of this incentive finder?
No. The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) closed permanently on November 8, 2023. It's not included because it's no longer an active program — MyFirstEV and Clean Cars 4 All are the current EV purchase incentives.
Do I need to scrap a car to get an EV rebate?
Only for Clean Cars 4 All, which is specifically designed around retiring an older, high-polluting vehicle. MyFirstEV and CALeVIP don't require scrapping anything.
Does buying used qualify for any rebate?
Yes. MyFirstEV includes a certified pre-owned tier, and Clean Cars 4 All's replacement vehicle can often be used as well as new, depending on your air district's rules.
How do I actually apply once I know what I qualify for?
Each program has its own separate application — MyFirstEV and Clean Cars 4 All through CARB/driveclean.ca.gov or your air district, and CALeVIP through calevip.org. This finder points you to the right program; it doesn't submit anything for you.
